India – EU
The Czech Republic assumed EU Presidency in January 2009. EU has accepted India as a strategic partner. EU and India have had 9 rounds of Summit meetings since 2000. India and EU are now negotiating a Broad-based Trade and Investment Initiative. The two way trade between India and EU has more than doubled in past few years.

India and EU have also been cooperating in the field of science and technology. India is amongst six countries accepted by EU as a partner in International Thermo Nuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER).
